Hot Water On-Demand Rebate
Waiting for hot water to arrive at your fixtures wastes water,
energy, and time. Installing a point of use pump can eliminate the waste,
saving up to 10,000 gallons per year, and now you can receive a $200 rebate on qualifying systems.
Point of use pumps send cold
water that would normally go down the drain back to your water heater
through the cold water line. The pump recirculates the water until it
reaches the desired temperature.
Rebate Guidelines:
- Residences must receive water from the City of Austin or an eligible water supplier.
- Customer must purchase and install an eligible system (see application) after October 1, 2008.
- Pump should be installed on appliance or fixture furthest away from hot water heater.
- Rebate is for the cost of the appliance, up to $200. Tax is not included.
- Limit one per household for the life of the house.
To Participate:
- Purchase and install a qualifying point of use pump.
- Submit an application with a copy of the purchase receipt within 30 days of installation.
- A Water Conservation representative may contact you to verify installation.
- Please allow 6-8 weeks after receipt of application for your rebate check to arrive.
