Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the municpal tennis centers is to offer year round tennis play and supervised tennis activities to the community through comprehensive year round programs for all ages. It is our intention to provide the best customer service possible and will try to make tennis and your experience at our facilities a FUN one.
Hours of Operation
Caswell, Pharr and South Austin Tennis Centers
March 15th-October 15th - 8:30 A.M.- 10:00 P.M. (7 Days a Week)
October 16th - March 14th - 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. (7 Days a Week)
Public Tennis Center Court Fees
Non-Prime Time - Fees are for 1 ½ hour for singles and 2 hours for doubles
Adults - $2.75 per person
Juniors - $1.50 per person (18 & under)
Seniors - $2.50 per person (62 & over)
Prime Time - Fees are for 1 ½ hour for singles and 2 hours for doubles
$4.00 per person - No distinction of age.
An Alternate fee may be used when normal time frames cannot be reserved, such as 1 hour from 9 to 10 p.m. or a half hour gap between reservations.
1 hour $2.50 per person
½ hour $2.00 per person

Exact hours of operation will be posted at each tennis center.
The Tennis Centers are operated by
contracted Tennis Professionals. Each facility offers public
play, lessons, leagues and tournaments. Tennis merchandise and
racket stringing services are provided at each facility.
Courts may be reserved by calling the tennis center 2 days in
advance.

The City of Austin in partnership with the Austin Independent School District is proud to announce our newest tennis facility - Austin Tennis Center (ATC). It is located off of Highway 290 and one mile from Texas Toll Road 130. Currently it has 12 courts and may some day be expanded to a 32 court facility. ATC will be offering lessons, clinics, leagues and professional racket stringing.

Caswell Tennis Center was built in 1946 and is the
oldest operating tennis facility in Texas. Its central
location and historic significance makes Caswell the hub of
tennis activity in Austin and a great place to pick up a game
in the afternoon. This municipal tennis center has also been
recognized by the Austin Chronicle as the "Best Tennis Courts"
in Austin. It has a well kept locker room and shower
facilities with a pro shop offering shoes, accessories, and
rackets - for sale and testing. Racket stringing is available
with a wide assortment of strings. They offer programs of
private and group lessons, tennis-specific fitness workouts
and mixers to cater to players of all ages and skill levels.
It also has one of the best Junior Programs in the City.

Pharr Tennis Center is
located next to Patterson Park and adjacent to the old Mueller
airport. With the development of the Mueller site, Pharr is
becoming a popular destination. Pharr Tennis Center offers
lessons, clinics, leagues and professional racket stringing by
Rubin Yanez. Rubin is recognized as one of the top racket
stringers in the state.
South Austin

South Austin Tennis Center is the only public tennis center south of the river. It is characterized by its pleasant environment and spacious court layout. It features newly installed lighting for unsurpassed night-time play. Since reopening under new management in 2007, South Austin Tennis Center has been honored by Austin Chronicle readers as the "Best Tennis Courts" in Austin. South Austin Tennis Center offers classes and lessons for beginner through advanced-level players. The pro shop offers ball machine rental, expert racquet stringing, racquet sales, demo rental racquets, and thorough consultation to help you choose the perfect racquet for you. South Austin Tennis Center's great courts are available for reservation all year-round.

Austin High
Tennis Center is a shared facility with Austin High School and
A.I.S.D. The school tennis team uses the courts during school
hours. The courts are available to the general public after
5:30 p.m. and on weekends during non-school events..
Leagues USTA and city-wide leagues are
programmed by the Capital Area Tennis Association (CATA). The
Austin Tennis League (ATL) is a local City league that is
programmed during the Fall and Spring seasons. Both the CATA
and ATL leagues are facilitated by the Parks and Recreation
