The Waters Park Relief Main project will install 3,300 linear feet of wastewater line to help serve the growing developments upstream of Walnut Creek. This project also includes approximately 1,434 linear feet of the Northern Walnut Creek Trail from Mopac to the south side of the baseball field in Balcones District Park. The concrete trail will be 10-feet wide with 2-feet wide shoulders and include retaining walls, a creek crossing, and trailheads.
August 2017 update on current and upcoming work:
The City’s contractor has completed installing the waste water main from Danny Drive to Adelphi Lane, phase 3 by-pass pumping, and removed the temporary traffic control on Adelphi Lane.
They continue making final adjustments to the streets/waste water main in Adelphi Lane, Scribe Drive, & Leaf Lane and should start paving on Thursday August 3, 2017. Traffic will be temporarily reduced to one lane near construction crews and directed under a flagging operations during work hours. The work should take approximately 1 week to complete. Once complete the contractor will restore the areas behind the curb that were damaged during construction and begin cleaning up the staging area in the park.
They have completed most of the concrete trail from the apartment complex to the low water crossing in the park and should begin pouring the channels this week. Once complete they will finish the remainder of segment 2 of the concrete trail, replace the backstop, remove most of the staging area fence, plant trees, and revegetate the park.
Access to driveways will be maintained during construction, except for brief periods when work on the wastewater main is immediately adjacent to a driveway. For these exceptions, property owners will be contacted in advance so work can be scheduled accordingly.
