The purpose of the Peer Panel Review Process is to ensure fairness in reviewing applications for GTOPs funding. To accomplish this, the Office of Telecommunications & Regulatory Affairs utilizes community volunteers as panelists who demonstrate expertise in the subject area.
To ensure a comprehensive vetting of potential reviewers, please provide a copy of your resume or curriculum vitae by November 1st if you would like to be a reviewer. The Community Technology and Telecommunications Commission will vote to elect all panelists at their November 13, 2019 meeting. The next GTOPs review cycle will commence in December 2019.
Below are important dates for all grant reviewers:
December 10, 2019: 6pm-8pm (Orientation and Round 1 Grant Review begins)
January 5, 2020: First round scores are due from grant reviewers
February 7, 2020: 8am-6pm (Second Round Scoring)
Week of February 10, 2020: Final Deliberation over 1-2 hours
For GTOPs Core and Collaborative applications, there are two rounds of review, with approximately 10-15 hours of work required for each round.
GTOPs Capacity applications are reviewed separately by Community Technology Services’ staff, a member of the Community Technology and Telecommunications Committee member, and one external reviewer. There are two cohorts of applications per year, with awardees being announced at the end of January and July. Reviewers will need to be available for a single day of application evaluation per cohort (potential reviewers may apply to serve for one or both cohorts).
