We are proud to produce annual signature events and collaborations with Latino arts organizations. Our four annual signature events are Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz: A Tribute to Mexican Women in April, Award of Excellence in May, Viva Mexico in September and Día de los Muertos in late October or early November. All events are free and open to the public.

This will be a panel discussion centered on the St. Edwards University College Assistance Migrant Program, otherwise known as CAMP which has been part of the University since 1972 and has been bery successful.

Dia de los Muertos - October Celebrate the cycle of life remembering our loved ones with respect, honor and joy. Family activities, food, live music and dancing for the entire family.
Sor Juan Ines de la Cruz - April Celebrating the life and legacy of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz with theatre performances and more.
Award of Excellence - May This award is to be granted as the highest distinction and celebration of lasting contributions by artists and community members.
Cine de Oro
Join us on the last Tuesday of each month at the Mexican American Cultural Center (600 River St.) for a special screening from the Golden Era of Mexico’s cinema. Seniors will enjoy a healthy lunch immediately following the film.

The Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center is a vibrant arts center with 100,000 annual visitors. Since 2007, we have been offering countless cultural events and art classes focusing on performing arts, music, literature, film screenings, and the Latino Arts Residency Program. A collaboration is a one-time presentation that is co-produced with the ESB-MACC. It can be a panel discussion, music or theatre presentation, film screenings or community engagement discussion. The ESB-MACC organizes year-round activities and also cooperates with a large number of partners who complete and strengthen programming through rentals and collaborations.
