Walsh Boat Landing Public Meeting

Lion’s Golf Course Club House
The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department operates the Walsh Boat Landing as a public entry area to access Lake Austin. This public facility primarily consists of concrete boat ramps, a restroom facility and a public dock area utilized for fishing and mooring of vessels. The facility also serves as a neighborhood park, and is characterized by a rolling landscape with many mature oak trees. Recent vessel capacity and maintenance issues at the available ramps, and the existing dock have created a need to study and analyze the facility to provide a safer and more efficient experience for all users.
PARD has held several meetings and focus group sessions with the public and commercial stakeholders that utilize Walsh Boat Landing to address capacity issues and maintenance concerns. Based on these concerns, PARD has initiated management of commercial vessels, and has developed a conceptual site plan to improve the utilization of Walsh Boat Landing.
