On Monday, August 3, 2020, three Capital Murder warrants for the robbery-shooting death of Adelaido Bernabe Urias were obtained. Mr. Urias was selling ice cream at the time of the murder.
Charged in the death are Marquis Davis, Jermaine Jones and Devlon Wardy. The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force located and arrested the three men. Marquis Davis was arrested days earlier on an unrelated Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon charge. Jones and Wardy were located yesterday afternoon. All three men are being held in the Travis County Correctional Complex, and their bond has been set at $1 million each.

On Tuesday, June 23 at approximately 3:10 p.m., Austin 9-1-1 received a call of a man shot in the apartment complex located at 9210 Northgate Blvd. Upon arrival, officers located Adelaido Bernabe Urias with a gunshot wound. Residents told police that he was known to them as an ice cream vendor who pushed a small ice cream cart around the area. A witness who tried to comfort Adelaido Bernabe Urias stated he said three black males had tried to rob him. Adelaido Bernabe Urias was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas with life-threatening injuries. Robbery detectives and crime scene specialists arrived at the location and processed the scene.
On Wednesday, July 1 at 5:10 p.m., Adelaido Bernabe Urias succumbed to his wounds and died.
Homicide detectives are now working the case. The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.
