Public review runs through Friday, January 12, 2018
The Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD), with the help of the community, has developed a draft of the Cemetery Rules. The rules were reviewed internally, and by the City of Austin Law Department. The updated rules were presented to stakeholders during two public engagement meetings in October. Additional input and feedback was received and was incorporated into the final draft of the Cemetery Rules and Regulations.
The proposed cemetery rules have been posted at the City Clerk’s office and public review begins Tuesday, December 12, 2017 and runs through Friday, January 12, 2018. After this review, a recommendation will be made to the Cemetery Administrator for adoption.
At the conclusion of the public comment period, the PARD Director will file a notice of rule adoption with the City Clerk. Once the new Rules have been adopted, a ninety day notification period will begin prior to enforcement.
