The festival is inspired by themes explored in “Phone Home”, an exhibit currently on display at The Carver Museum & Cultural Center that features the work of Washington D.C. based artist, Jessica Valoris.
Phone Home Fest uses music, film, performance and spoken word to explore radical self-care and creative courage. The festival will feature performances from Colored Girls Hustle, Riders Against the Storm, Las Krudas, Micah Tron, QiKi, DJ Shani, Aduza-Gette and many more.
Jessica Valoris is a visual and performing artist, emcee, and youth advocate who has performed across the country with Body Ecology Performance Ensemble, and as one half of the rap duo, Colored Girls Hustle.
Valoris currently works with The Future Project and City at Peace DC, to support young people in developing leadership skills and making a difference in their communities.
The outdoor festival is free and open to the public.Holistic wellness vendors will be present to offer services and merchandise
