On Monday, October 26, 2020, at approximately 2:55 a.m., Austin 911 received multiple calls of shots fired in the 2400 block of E. Riverside Dr. The callers stated that two men standing in the median had been struck. Officers located the injured men near a group of tents. Austin-Travis County EMS arrived on scene and began treating both for multiple gunshot wounds. The men were transported to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas where one of them, Xavier McLemore, died at 3:36 a.m. The other victim is in stable condition.
