Workshop is part of a year-long planning process.
The Planning and Development Review Department invites residents and business owners to participate in a workshop to discuss the future of the area bounded by Ben White Boulevard (north), William Cannon Drive (south), West Gate Boulevard/the Sunset Valley city limits (west), and South 1st Street (east). The area includes the Westgate, Manchaca and Garrison Park neighborhoods.
The workshop will be held this Saturday, Feb. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the cafeteria of Crockett High School, 5601 Manchaca Road.
The workshop is part of a year-long planning process that will guide the form, location, and character of future development in the planning area. During the workshop, participants will view and discuss various options for the form and character of the planning area.
In addition, City staff will present feedback from the first workshop and results from a recent neighborhood survey.
The South Austin Combined Neighborhood Plan will be the first neighborhood plan developed since adoption of the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan, and will be guided by the plan’s vision of creating a city of complete communities where residents have convenient access to their daily needs, including goods, services, parks, and jobs.
