Austin residents can learn about the tree permitting process
The City of Austin’s Development Services Department’s Community Tree Preservation Division, is conducting a series of workshops, “Get Tree Smart,” for residents to learn about the tree permitting process and how common residential construction projects can trigger the need for a tree permit.
“We hope that these workshops help residents learn about the City’s Tree Ordinance and how we can preserve Austin’s tree canopy” said Daniel Priest, Environmental Compliance Specialist Senior with the Development Services Department.
Through this workshop participants will:
Learn about Austin’s tree ordinance and how the City Arborist Program supports it.
Gain a clear understanding of when a permit is required and how to apply for one.
Learn how to care for trees to increase property values and support a healthy environment.
The free workshops will be held:
August 27 – University Hills Library, 4721 Loyola Ln., 6:00pm to 7:30pm
September 17 – Cepeda Branch Library, 651 North Pleasant Valley Rd., 6:00pm to 7:30pm
