The City of Austin’s Small & Minority Business Resources Department (SMBR) honors several local businesses as we celebrate eleven years of Diversity in Contracting on Tuesday, October 25th from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center, 1165 Angelina Street, Austin, TX 78702.
Each year, SMBR recognizes firms that exhibit high standards in contracting, outreach, and performance in support of the City of Austin’s Minority-Owned, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE & DBE) programs. This year, SMBR is proud to celebrate the two companies for their exemplary work as primes on local contracts:

The City of Austin’s Small & Minority Business Resources Department assists small, minority-owned and women-owned businesses as they pursue contracting opportunities with the City of Austin; encourages Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (MBE), Women-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) to participate on City contracts; certifies qualified Small Business Enterprises (SBE) for the Small Business Construction Program; provides bonding education and oversees the City’s MBE/WBE and DBE contracting goals in the areas of construction, professional services, commodities and nonprofessional services.
