in the Human Resources Department, the Americans with Disabilities Act
Office (ADA) assists a team of departmental ADA Coordinators in complying
with all aspects of ADA as they relate to the City of Austin. The ADA
Office ensures accessibility to all City programs, services and facilities.

The Civil

The Compensation
Division provides the necessary systems designed to attract, motivate
and retain employees. The division provides a number of services ranging
from job evaluation to salary administration. The primary focus of our
division is to support the business strategies that contribute to organization
effectiveness.
The Equal Employment/Fair Housing Office (EEFHO) of the City of Austin Human Resources was established in 1967 by
the City of Austin Ordinance 671005-B, as amended and adopted October
5, 1967. The Office is empowered to enforce four City Ordinances and
the following federal statutes: Title VII and Title VIII of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Americans with Disabilities Act of
1990 (ADA), and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA).
The Office is also empowered to take charges, under the Equal Pay
Act of 1963 (EPA). The EPA charges will be forwarded to EEOC for actual
investigation and resolution. The primary goal of the 11 Commission members
is to promote and enforce fair treatment of all individuals in the area
of employment, housing, and public accommodations.

The Financial
Services Division provides technical and administrative support to staff
in the Human Resources Department, Citywide leadership development program,
Citywide tuition reimbursement program, as well as Citywide performance

The Human
Resources Management Systems Division (HRMS) provides technical training
and data assistance to the various departments within the City of Austin.

Development Administration (ODA) provides human resources consulting
and training to City management so it can improve performance in a
changing workplace.
As Consultants we:

As Trainers, we provide ongoing skills development for executives, managers, supervisors, workgroups and individuals.
The Learning and Research Center
at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is a meeting and training
facility open for all City of Austin departments to use.
HealthPLUS,
the City of Austin’s award winning wellness program, has been serving
City employees since 1994. HealthPLUS helps employees and their families
lead better lives by increasing health awareness through individual
health screenings and group educational programs. Collectively, wellness
activities help participants address the physical, mental, and emotional
aspects of life.
