Preparing for the 2012 Formula One (TM) U.S. Grand Prix Webinar + Live Q&A
The City of Austin wants to ensure that local businesses and organizations are prepared to welcome the estimated 300,000 visitors coming to Austin for the Formula One (TM) U.S. Grand Prix this November. Due to the strong demand for our previous two free training sessions about preparing for the race weekend, we are offering another forum for business owners to learn about the race and get their questions answered. At this event we will screen the webinar filmed at the August 28th Preparing for the 2012 Formula 1 (TM) U.S. Grand Prix Workshop. After the webinar viewing, staff from the City of Austin and the Circuit of the Americas (TM) will be available for Q&A. Staff from RunTex Events (organizers of the downtown Experience Austin festival during the race weekend), the Austin Sports Commission, and Protocol & Etiquette Worldwide will also be present to answer questions.
Topics to be covered:
- Introduction to Formula One (TM) racing
- Event schedule and fan activities
- Transportation and special events management
- Attracting global customers without losing local flavor
- Bridging the cultural divide with international customers
- How to stay informed leading up to and during the event
Attendees will receive a "Texas Charm, Global Appeal" window sticker for their storefront to inform the public that they have gone the extra mile to prepare to for the race weekend and welcome visitors. Attendees will also be recognized on ATXGrandPrix.org.
This event is free and no advanced registration is required. However, the room has limited capacity and seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Check-in and seating will begin at 1:30 pm.
