Scattered Cooperative Infill Housing Program (SCIP 2)
Summary
SCIP 2 is designed to redevelop an area between East 11th and 12th Streets and Branch and Navasota Streets into a revitalized residential community through the construction of 100 affordable housing units for low and moderate income families. The project is being implemented by the Anderson Community Development Corporation (ACDC) with Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME funds. The project consists of 50 rental and 50 homeownership units and will be managed by the ACDC and monitored by the City of Austin Neighborhood Housing and Conservation Office.
Status
As originally proposed, the development of SCIP 2 was contingent upon multiple funding sources including State Low Income Housing Tax Credits. To date, however, no Tax Credits have been approved for the project. Currently, funding for the project totals $2,830,000 provided by the City of Austin for the acquisition of land and construction of 52 lower income housing units (35 rental and 17 homeownership). Additional units are anticipated to be developed contingent upon the availability of funding.
