South 1st Street

Summary

This project will widen S. 1st Street from Riverside Drive to 500' south of Barton Springs Road. Originally these improvements were included in the S. 1st St. Bridge project (TxDOT). The roadway improvements (upgrade from 4 to 6 lanes with intersection improvements) will now be bid as a City project. This project will improve traffic flow and safety.

Status

The project will be constructed in five phases. Phase I has been completed, and Phase II started December 14, 1995. The total project should be completed by July 1996.
