Mission

Austin is committed to being the most family friendly city in the country with policies and decisions that support and enhance the quality of life for families and children.  This commitment should then be realized through structures which ensure every major city policy is evaluated for its effect on families with children.

AYC YCF See you at next year's Youth Career Fest!

The Annual Youth Career Fest, by the Youth Initiatives Office, is a career exploration event for Austin area high school students hosted by the Austin Youth Council. The Austin Youth Council is a group of high school students who represent the voice of youth in local government by learning about city government and meeting with policymakers and administrators.

Since 2013, the Austin Youth Council has hosted the Youth Career Fest to provide students with a day to explore their career and higher educational interests.

As one of the largest Career Fests in the city, we have hosted more than 200+ vendors from diverse career fields, with over 3000+ attendees from the greater Austin area.

The goal for this event is to provide students with an exposure to different career sectors, college opportunities, to equip them with the knowledge, connections and experience, to find their path after graduation.

Students can expect to network with career representatives, and hear from keynote speakers representing Austin.
