Austin Resource Recovery is working with stakeholders to develop recommendations for Austin City Council to amend the Universal Recycling Ordinance. The URO Phase 2 amendments may expand recycling requirements to other business types beginning sometime after Oct. 1, 2013. Industries impacted by URO Phase 2 may include the following:
- Food and Beverage industry (restaurants, bars, grocers, catering)
- Retail Stores
- Hotels and Lodging
- Industrial and Manufacturing Facilities
The Universal Recycling Ordinance Phase 2 Zero Waste Advisory Commission (ZWAC) Committee conducted several public stakeholder meetings.
