The Mayor’s Fitness Council (MFC) Partner Certification Program is a mutually beneficial worksite wellness recognition program for Austin-based organizations of all types and sizes. It was created by the MFC in 2007 in an effort to inspire nutrition, physical activity and tobacco-free living in worksite environments. By becoming either an MFC Standard or Gold Certified Partner, organizations get recognition for implementing comprehensive, promising practices and evidence-based worksite policies.
In order to remain in good standing, organizations must get recertified every two years.
MFC Standard Certification
For Mayor’s Fitness Council Standard Certification, applying organizations must have health initiatives that comprehensively address three Pillars of Health: Tobacco-Free Living, Physical Activity, and Nutrition.
MFC Gold Certification
In order to achieve Mayor’s Fitness Council Gold Certification, organizations must complete the MFC Gold Certification Application which includes initiatives that comprehensively address five Pillars of Health including Tobacco-Free Living, Physical Activity, Nutrition, General Prevention Services, and Access to Clinical Trials.
Organizations must also get certified through the national CEO Cancer Gold Standard™ certification online. The CEO Cancer Gold Standard™ certification is a national initiative that recognizes employers who implement quality health promotion worksite initiatives. Learn more at www.cancergoldstandard.org.
