Upcoming events and information for May, as seen on Univison.

In an effort to facilitate dialogue on important community issues, The City of Austin’s Conversation Corp Has announced six months of topics for which we; as well as Capital Metro and Austin Independent School District will be seeking public input for. Beginning May 11th, each round of conversations will begin the second Monday of the month at various times and locations throughout Austin. Friday May 15th from 8:30am-12pm The Asian Behavioral Health Network and the YWCA Greater Austin will be presenting "The Hidden Epidemic: Bullying and Asian American Youth" at the Asian American Resource Center. This event is a training that will focus on the impact of bullying with Asian American students in schools and will be free and open to the public. Mental health professionals, caseworkers, educators, school counselors, youth workers and parents/family are encouraged to attend. As part of the 2015 West Austin Studio Tour, Art in Public places is hosting a Public Art Crawl featuring new public art along 2nd street on Saturday May 16th at 10:00am. Those who are interested in attending should meet at City Hall plaza at 10 a.m. for a guided walking tour. For more information please visit

The City of Austin Animal Services will be providing a free rabies vaccination clinic for dogs and cats 12 weeks of age and older on May 16th from 8:00am to 12:00pm at Richard Moya Park (10001 Burleson Road). As required by state law, an owner or handler of a dog must have their pet vaccinated. If you are interested in coming, please bring your dog on a leash and your cat in a secured box with air holes. And finally, Monday May 18th  The Austin Taiwanese Association will be presenting Taiwanese Aborigines USA Culture Tour.  There will be cultural dance performances and showcases of musical pieces from 7 aborigines tribes in Taiwan. Doors will open at 6:00pm with a performance at 6:30 followed by a meet and greet at 7:30. This event will be free with an R.S.V.P by visiting and will be located at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center.
