The City of Austin’s Drupal website uses the CK Editor to allow you to add and edit text, photos, videos, links, and more to any pages, news releases, articles and most other content types that are created on the site. Many of the features of the CK Editor are similar to word processing programs, such as Microsoft Word.
The CK editor has a variety of different buttons available for you to edit your content. When editing content, you can hover your mouse over a button in the CK Editor to see its use. The following goes into detail about the different buttons available, starting from the left and moving to the right, with the top row first. Items in bold are those often used.
Top Row, First Section
Cut – Allows you to cut highlighted text
Copy – Allows you to copy highlighted text
Paste – Allows you to paste copied/cut text
Paste as Plain Text – Allows you to paste text without additional formatting. You will always want to use this when pasting text onto your page, as it will ensure that the formatting of your page is always consistent with the rest of the site.
