The AustinGo team has completed our eighth ‘Sprint.’
A ‘Sprint’ is a six- to eight-week work session in which the communications and technology teams work together on strategic goals to bring increased functionality, structure and appeal to Austintexas.gov.
Below is a list of some of the great new features and updates to the site:
Emergency Drupal User Role
We created a new Drupal user role account for the Homeland Security and Emergency Management department (www.austintexas.gov/department/homeland-security)to be used only during emergency activation to quickly make page changes. This will increase the speed at which important information and updates are communicated to residents during emergencies.
We deployed several new features to increase the usability and functionality of Search on AustinTexas.gov:
- On the Search page, results are now automatically set to display webpage only as the default results. This improves the quality of search results. Also, users have more flexibility with the option to display “Webpage only,” “Documents only,” or “Both.”
- On the top of every webpage next to the Search box, there is a link to Advanced Search.
- Suggested links have been added to appear in the results for frequently-searched departments and keywords. Here is view of the suggested links for business: http://austintexas.gov/search/page/business
