Corporal Shaun Donovan risked his own safety to approach a possible armed suspect who was bleeding profusely from a self-inflicted wound.  He and another officer applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.  The doctor that ultimately treated him said the bleed was arterial and the subject would have died had the bleeding not been stopped.
