The Austin Parks and Recreation Department 2016 Annual Report
The City of Austin's Parks and Recreation Department maintains an award-winning park system with 300 parks and more than 20,254 acres of green spaces.
But the Austin Parks and Recreation Department manages more than just the city's outdoor spaces.
Over 700 staff members bring innovative and enriching programming to 11 museums and cultural centers, 10 performing arts venues, 147 playgrounds, 26 recreation centers, and over 200 athletic facilities.
