Welcome to the City of Austin’s Affordable Housing Listing. This list is comprised of Income-Restricted Affordable Housing funded or incentivized by City of Austin. This listing is regularly updated, but the rapidity and competitiveness of the Austin housing market keeps the City of Austin from certifying specific listings at a given moment. For additional information about renting in Austin, please visit the Resources for Renters website.
For ease of use, the Affordable Housing Listing is divided into geographic regions within the city. Individual listings are linked to the complex’s website, and includes the address and phone number. The list also identifies the type of properties (e.g., single family or multi-unit) and the different housing types (senior, students, transitional, accessibility for persons with disabilities, and general residential housing).
This inventory listing is drawn from the Affordable Housing Inventory database, which is a comprehensive online data tool for planning and tracking housing inventories and construction programs across the city. A digital map version of the inventory is also available below.
Home seekers must meet specific household income requirements to qualify to rent or purchase an income-restricted affordable unit. Most funding and incentive programs in Austin require that a household’s gross annual income is no more than 80 percent of the median family income. Refer to this easy-to-use chart to see if you qualify.
